About this image

Finally a night with above average seeing yielding my first good capture of the GRS for this apparition. It seems a little paler than last year to me, and about the same size. Two of the SSTB anticyclones show up in this image below GRS and to either side of it. Along the NEB southern edge near the CM are two brighter areas, probably a little outbreak of upwelling clouds. Also a well circumscribed storm sitting in the NPR, no red tinge to it so may be the long enduring NN-WS6 storm.

Seeing was predicted to turn “excellent” by 4am, but being a work night decided to close up and head back to bed :-)
