About this image

This is an intense star-formation region known as IC 5068 in the constellation Cygnus.  I used narrowband filters and the Hubble palette.  Sulfur atoms are shown here as red, Hydrogen-alpha emission as green) and double-ionized Oxygen as blue).  The use of these filters allows one to analyze the distribution of chemical elements throughout our galaxy.  The full uncropped image is at https://www.astrobin.com/full/u88no1/0/
