Lyra: Colour Star Trails

About this image

Short trails show up a wide variety of colours. Inevitably with a single exposure setting some the colours of some of the brighter stars are lost in over saturation; but in this image the deep red of the giant carbon star T Lyrae stands out.

Interesting thought. I just tried some (much longer) star trails experimentally, never having done any before, and did notice how colourful they were.
