Title
Venus nightside 15th Sept
About this image
Really excellent conditions on 15th Sept for a 50minute imaging session. Steady seeing, excellent transparency and Venus high in a dark sky, yielding my best ever nightside image, with a wealth of fine detail.
This from 90% of the best 4x2minute captures of the session - stacking more just reduced the detail slightly.

That's a superb image, Martin. Your experience of these observations and the large aperture really makes a big difference to the results. Very well done!
Chris
Thanks Chris,
The 15th was a session when everything came together to give a result that I am truly happy with. The planning, equipment decisions, settings decisions, scope tweaks, and previous experience paid off and nature for once gifted me good transparency, cloudless skies and excellent seeing.
It has been discussions and sharing of ideas and enthusiasm with guys like yourself, Peter Tickner, and Anthony Wesley that have inspired me to keep at this project, and I really appreciate that.
Regards
Martin
