While on holiday in Orkney last week I managed to visiting the St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall to see the huge globe suspended from the ceiling and showing a speeded up video of the Sun's changing appearance.

To make the 3D Sun more impressive some of the stained glass windows were covered up and a smoke machine employed which gave a whole new aspect to the cathedral - which is already a bit odd and very red. Would have been nice to have stayed longer but they were preparing for a funeral.
