About this image

Most images of star trails are taken with a stationary camera and the sky  and stars moves past it.

This one has a moving camera following the sky and the star moves past the sky.

The proper motion of Barnard's star in the four years 2019-2023 is very apparent. It has moved 41.2 arcseconds in that time.

The plate solver has run since I posted this.  I really love where it thinks Barnard's star ought to be.

Try a query for it in SIMBAD. The resulting two colour DSS image is rather fun.
