About this image

After glancing at the Shetland webcams and seeing loads of green, I looked at the Lancaster Aurorawatch website which showed lots of red. So, I grabbed the camera and went outside. The sky was still very blue but with a hint of magenta. I tried again a little while later (just after Sandra's email alert). Unfortunately, thin cloud was coming in and being illuminated from Shaftesbury or Warminster. But there was still a bit of twilight in the sky plus a red glow from the aurora.

Shame that the asparagus is out of focus. :)

Visually it was just detectable as present.

But thats my sort of fireworks.
