This COAST image shows the four members of the Hickson Compact Group HCG23 in Eridanus:

NGC1214/HCG23a lenticular galaxy, mag 14.0, discovered by Ormond Stone before 12 October 1886.

NGC1215/HCG23b interesting looking spiral galaxy, mag. 14.1, discovered by Ormond Stone before 12 October 1886.

NGC1216/HCG23c  lenticular galaxy, mag. 14.8, discovered by Ormond Stone in 1886.

PGC11673/HCG23d spiral galaxy, mag. c.16.0, discoverer not known to me.

Not members of the group but also seen in the image:

NGC1208 lenticular galaxy, mag 12.3, discovered in January 1785 by William Herschel.

IC1880 lenticular galaxy, mag 13.0, discovered in January 1900 by Herbert Howe.

Several other faint galaxies can also be seen.
