About this image

This class II1m open cluster in Perseus was discovered by William Herschel in December 1790. It comprises about 40 stars of similar magnitude in a fairly well detached group.

Apparent mag. 8.4. Distance c.4,300ly. Diameter c.12.5ly. Age c.129million yrs.

Bortle 7/8, low cloud.
