About this image

At least ten galaxies can be identified in this image, the most visible being:

NGC7619 an elliptical galaxy, apparent mag. 11.0, discovered by William Herschel in September 1785.

NGC 7626 also an elliptical galaxy, apparent mag. 11.0, discovered by William Herschel in September 1785.

NGC 7623 a lenticular galaxy, apparent mag. 13.0, also discovered by William Herschel in September 1785.

NGC 7611 a lenticular galaxy, apparent mag. 13.0, discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest in September 1862.

Also present but too small and faint to be reveal much/anything are:

NGC 7608, 7615, 7617, 7621, 7631 and IC5309. With the exception of NGC 7617 (lenticular, mag. 14.0) these are spiral galaxies of the 14th and 15th magnitude.

Bortle 7/8.
