A welcome gap in clouds to do some imaging.

This is another reflection nebular. Doing what it says on the tin, light from that bright star in the middle (AE Aurigae) is being reflected from insterstellar gas and dust. 

In fact this O type star (some 400pc away) isnt actually a permanent part of the region. It is passing through, actually at very high speed which is causing compression waves and all sorts. Actually it's a variable star as well - so might try and come back to this object over a few sequential observations one day.

Not as deep an image as I would have liked - high cloud pulled in and you can see the moon wash having a bit of effect.
