NGC1333 Comparison Test

About this image

After reviewing images captured at Remote Hosting Facilities such as PixelSkiesAstro and ASERO Skies in Spain, I decided to conduct a preliminary assessment of my new remote location in Southern Morocco by comparing photos. While this method may not be entirely scientific, it serves as an initial gauge.

Given that NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula, narrowband filters are not used to enhance the image. Therefore, the primary factor influencing image clarity is the quality of the location, assuming comparable telescopes/cameras/exposure, and ideal weather conditions in both instances.

Upon a cursory comparison of photos taken remotely by BAA members Ian Sharp (PixelSkies) and Mark Phillips (ASERO Skies), my initial conclusion is that the S Morocco site exhibits comparable sky quality. A promising potential at this location.
