About this image

One of the first proper images from this nicely performing new scope. Slower than the APO but able to pull out some decent smaller objects.

Imaging rather blighted by faint cloud and moon just past full phase.

This is a bipolar nebular, sometimes called the Little Dumbell as it has a similarity to M27 when visually observed.

By really pulling out the levels I could just make out some futher features past those loops, but it blasted away other parts of the image.

First time I have encounted diffraction spikes from the mirror supports... nice!  (used to APOs and SCTs )

It is about 780pc away in the constelation of Perseus.
