About this image

A gravitationally lensed quasar in Lynx, magnitude 15.2.  These are 12.05 billion year old photons.  I was astonished that this is possible with a 50mm scope.

That is one of my favourite test targets for deep sky spectroscopy. Here is the spectrum back in 2005 with the then new Star Analyser and a modified webcam. (A bit more aperture though !)
