Venus thermal nightside comparison

About this image

This is the most detailed section of a Winjupos created map of the thermal nightside of Venus and is based on 1010nm images taken during my best session on Sept 15th 2023. This area covers longitude 30° to 75° and latitude +45° to -15°. The animation compares my thermal data with the radar altimetry data for the same region taken by the Magellan probe. This was prepared for a forthcoming article in the Mercury and Venus newsletter 'Messenger'.
