About this image

A third and final attempt at the Deep Sky Section's January 'Object of Interest', using the Open University's 42cm COAST in Tenerife. This instrument has been out of service for a while, but on returning to operation still seems to have some problems with dust penetrating the optics. I have had to crop the image considerably and apply some basic tweaks to produce a reasonable image. The relatively brief exposure - 180sec. - is the maximum allowed to 'casual' users.
