About this image

IC 2574 was the January 2024 Object of Interest but is rather difficult for me to image because of its northerly declination and the design of the fork mount. Accordingly, the image shows less than half the galaxy, the remainder being inaccessible.

It does, however, show the globular cluster GC10 recorded as V=19.08 in the paper Georgiev, T. B., Tikhonov, N. A., Karachentsev, I. D., & Ivanov, V. D. (1996). Globular cluster candidates in the galaxies NGC 2366, IC 2574 and NGC 4236. Astronomical & Astrophysical Transactions, 11(1), 39–46. doi:10.1080/10556799608205453.

Yet another GC picked up which lies outside the Local Group of galaxies, IC 2574 being part of the M81/M82 group.
