My first spectrum (with the star analyser)

About this image

This is my first attempt at capturing a star spectrum! I had to learn a lot just to do the very basic stuff :)

Series of 5 .ser video files captured with Sharpcap and focusing using the autofocus method for extended objects on the spectrum (not the star).

Image stacking with Siril - set to keep the best 50% of the frames.

Spectrum processing/plot with Rspec.

Seeing was bad, and I think (hope!) I can get even sharper images on better nights.

Congratulations on your first spectrum !

The absorption at ~7630A is a telluric band from atmospheric Oxygen. Similarly the other features between there and H alpha are also telluric bands (From H2O) so appear in all spectra taken from the ground. Christian Buil has a nice higher resolution annotated spectrum of Vega which show them in detail at the bottom of the page here
