About this image

Arp 206 consists of an edge-on spiral (?) galaxy, NGC3432, with irregular dwarf galaxy PGC32617 seen faintly to the left of the uppermost tip of NGC3432. The latter was discovered by William Herschel in March 1787. The two galaxies appear to be interacting.

PGC32617 - mag.16.3. Distance c.35million ly. Diameter c.12-15,000ly.
