Title

Regulus Hidden Galaxy Leo I

About this image

I was fond of Regulus since my teen years, learnt it in Arabic as (قلب الأسد) the Lion's Heart. Never thought there's a fuzzy-looking galaxy so close to it, a dwarf galaxy called Leo I. Only discovered in 1950 !

Had to be careful with processing to prevent Regulus' glare from overwhelming the galaxy. You can also see other faint galaxies in the field. For Hi-Res click HERE.
