About this image

This mag 13.8 face-on spiral galaxy was discovered by Albert Marth in March 1865. In this COAST image, the tiny galaxy's bright central nucleus can be seen surrounded by a faint, largely undifferentiated disk. Several other faint galaxies are present, notably what appears to be an edge-on spiral to the left of NGC3601.

The spiral is AGC 214051, aka LEDA 213804. It appears in several other catalogues as well, including GAIA DR3 which lists it as a star.
