About this image

Mid-totality. There are clearly visible-to-the-naked-eye prominences at 4 and 6 o'clock - red because hydrogen is being burnt and about three Earths high from the chromosphere. From the banks of the Mississippi in Cape Girardeau. This turned out to be the best place weather-wise on the continent - and was also at the crossroads of where the 2017 and 2024 eclipses met.
