About this image

A composite of the fireball captured on a couple of my north-facing cameras, UK001H (RMS) and Leeds_N (UFO Capture). Because of the cloud cover it wasn't analysed by RMS, but UFO Analyser categorised it as a sporadic meteor with a peak apparent magnitude of -5. A small section of the end of its trail was captured on my UK002P camera (RMS 16 mm lens) and is not included in the attached image.

(Leeds_N has a diffraction grating - the bright areas to the left and right of its image are poor-quality spectra of the fireball's flaring).

Bill Ward recorded a high-quality spectrum which is discussed here.
