About this image

SN 2024ggi was discovered a week ago by the ATLAS survey. It is glowing in bluish colour in the spiral galaxy NGC 3621 in the constellation of Hydra.

At Dec -33º capturing the galaxy paused some challenges as it only reached a maximum hight of 26° above southern horizon at my site.
