About this image

Inspired by Grant to get an MPC Observatory Code, I had a practice run chasing a couple of minor planets (136108 Haumea, 136472 MakeMake and Asteroid 44434 1998 UD4 that I spotted in an image I'd taken of Arp134 a couple of nights earlier).  For a fast moving NEO I stumbled across 2024 JX1 racing through Bootes.  I had no idea that it was at it's closest approach to Earth for 10 years at 0.012808 AU on Wed may 8 2024!  Finding it was also a challenge as it is too faint to see in an image until I started tracking it rather than at sidereal rate.  I've created a collage of six of the frames, the first frame was at 02:20:40.359 UTC.  According to theskylive.com the current magnitude of Asteroid (NEO) 2024 JX1 is 21.30(JPL)!
