About this image

One of the most striking things about the auroral display on 10-11 May 2024 was the bright corona that was present. This lasted for most of the night and was at times very bright and striking. It also displayed many colours, at times being pink, green, red or purple, with combinations of these colours often present. I got this shot of a particularly bright pink corona in the early evening, with rays from the feature crossing the constellation of Boötes.
