About this image

Nights are short at this time of year and astronomical twilight lasts all night here but my sky is pretty bright anyway so the time around midnight can still be good for deep-sky imaging. Last night was very clear with a lovely crescent Moon setting very far to the northwest early on. After imaging four comets (C/2023 A3,  473P, C/2023 V4 and C/2021 S3) I had run out of comet targets that I could access so I pointed the telescope high up in Cygnus. My HD11/ASI6200 has a parallel-mounted small telescope with a one-shot colour camera and this is the result of 40 minutes exposure on NGC7000. Always a very nice region of the sky to come back to in the middle of summer.
