About this image

This is another example of data I have had on disk for a long time: 2.5 years in this case. I'm spending my time these bright summer days going through the back catalogue.

This one was well worth doing in my opinion.

There are several objects classified in Beverly Lynds' 1965 catalogue of bright nebulae (Lynds' Bright Nebula, LBN) but the whole region is identified as Sh2-157 in the Sharpless catalogue of HII regions. There is also a small star cluster at the top right, NGC 7510.

This nebula, commonly called the Lobster Claw nebula, for obvious reasons, is close to the Bubble Nebula, which is out of the frame to the upper left.
