About this image

This is a Type E3-4 (I can find no descriptor for this) elliptical galaxy. It was discovered by William Herschel in March 1790. In the De Vaucouleur Atlas an image of NGC 5322 is used to illustrate the type.

Apparent mag. 10.1. Distance c.80million ly. Size c.140,000ly.
