About this image

This is NGC 2623, a 13.4 magnitude SABcd LINER galaxy seen face on. The object close to the nucleus is another galaxy, as are a number of the other objects in the field. It is around 75-80 Mpc distant.

Limiting stellar magnitude is ~20.4, not much worse than the DSS2 images available at Aladin.

A really beautiful object, IMAO, but one which is  rarely imaged it seems. Note the asymmetrical arms which are presumably distorted by interaction with another galaxy. I have no idea which one.
