About this image

NGC7063 is a Type III2p (sparse and little concentration) open cluster. It was discovered by John Herschel in August 1828.

This COAST image, giving a wider view, shows the 'umberella' shape of the cluster, with the handle tipped up to the left.

Apparent magnitude 7.0. Distance c.2,300ly. Diameter 6ly.
