About this image

Pushing the limits in my location, I managed to capture Norma cluster (Dec -54°) while only 5° above horizon.

A rich open cluster in the southern constellation Norma, discovered by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop in 1826 from Sydney.

Norma is one of the smallest of constellations, though it's positioned in the Milky Way and have lots of interesting targets. From Lat 30° I can only observe part of Norma as it spans –42° to –61° in Dec.
