About this image

This display of noctilucent clouds started off quite bright and high in the late evening of 28 June 2024. It became visible earlier than most displays I've observed and was initially quite bright, so I anticipated a good display. Unfortunately, there was lots of low-level cloud this evening and this blocked my view of the display after a few minutes. There were some more NLCs closer to the horizon, but these too became obscured by the tropospheric clouds. I stuck it out for a while, but the clouds were just getting worse, so I stopped observing. It was a shame as it seemed to be a good display. Sometimes that's the way it goes when viewing noctilucent clouds!
