About this image

Launched on 14 April 2023 the JUICE probe is now approaching the Earth AND Moon to affect a gravity assist manoeuvre. On Aug 19 it will pass 700km by the Moon then, the next day it will pass within 7000 km of the Earth (actually 01:57 UTC on 21 Aug) passing over SE Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

For me this is a first in capturing a returning spacecraft, rather than an escaping one!
