About this image

This faint lenticular galaxy is almost lost in a blizzard of foreground stars in this COAST image.  It was discovered in August 1864 by Albert Marth during his work in Malta cataloguing nebulae.  

Apparent magnitude 13.0. Diameter c.142,000 ly. Distance c.211million ly.
