Wolf Rayet 134 in Cygnus

About this image

I'm come across some beautiful pictures of this region of Cygnus centred around the Wolf-Rayet star WR134. I was interested to see if the outer ring of the bubble of ionised Oxygen surrounding WR134 would be visible in the final narrowband image. If you zoom in on the centre of this HOO picture it is just faintly visible. The bubble is caused by material swept up by the stellar wind from WR 134 which is estimated to be 400,000 times brighter than our sun. Of course much of its radiation is in the ultra-violet region or beyond rather than visible light.
