Title

1 of 2 Dismounting my 14-inch Cassegrain's backplate & mirror cell (24kg).

About this image

Using a motorbike scissor jack to remove the backplate, cell and mirror (24kg) from the tube in a safe and controlled fashion.

The contraption is designed to also be capable of dismounting the whole intact OTA (60kg not counting the two piggy-back refractors) from the fork.

The jack and its tower roll clear of the pier on fixed castors running on hardwood rails (salvaged from 1970's Everest window frames!)
