About this image

This was a lucky Perseid to capture given the amount of cloud around on 12-13 August, the second night of the Perseids meteor shower peak. The meteor was bright enough to shine through the cloud to the north. As an added bonus the aurora made an appearance, which is the purple colour to the sky.
