About this image

This is a Class I1m open cluster, though none too easy to identify visually. Located in Cygnus, it was discovered in April 1891 by Frederick Pechüle at the Copenhagen Observatory.

 

Apparent mag. 8.8. Distance c.10,500ly. Age c.300-350million yrs. 

Bortle 7/8, light cloud intermittently heavier.
