Title
We finally got clear skies this evening and I made an observation of Tsuchishan-ATLAS. I had quite a lovely view of it and even at x38 the tail could be seen. I made two drawings, one at x38 and another at x100. At higher power I had the view that the centre of the comet was rather elongated. The tail was interesting and with averted vision didn't appear to be quite uniform- it's hard to explain but it seemed to have slightly brighter sections.
I estimated the comet using the star HD171126 as a comparison star which is listed as Mv = 8.26 (which I take as 8.3) and I estimate the comet to be '83-3' giving the comet a Mv= +8.6.
