About this image

My 32nd year of monitoring this binary black hole object.

OJ faded from a relatively bright state of 14.8V in April 2024 to 16.5V by May 2024.  The final observation before Solar conjunction (OJ is in the constellation Cancer) was made on June 28 at 16.1CV.  OJ was recoved on September 9 (my earliest post conjunction observation) at 15.9CV, and has varied between 15.5V-16.5V for the remainder of the year - with a suspicion of some very short periodicity, especially when data from other observers is added (Martin Mobberley has also been following closely all year too).  Who knows what 2025 will bring!
