Aurora (SAR), Venus and Meteor

About this image

I was taking a timelapse of the aurora display this evening and I found a meteor in one of the shots. The aurora was specifically a SAR arc that went from the southeast to southwest. This shot is looking southwest and Venus can be seen near the bottom of the picture. I checked the frames either side of the meteor shot to rule out a bright satellite. There were also no satellites or other bright objects predicted to be visible at that time and location that matched the position of the track. I therefore concluded that it must be a sporadic meteor.
