First Light Looking at M109

About this image

This is first light with a Celestron Edge HD 9.25" SCT. It was the first clear dry night in weeks, but since this was also the first time with a new OTA everything that could go wrong did go wrong. After several hours in the cold, and not wanting to waste the evening completely, I eventually slewed to M109 and began shooting. Since I still have focus issues to resolve I did not bother with any calibration subs, so this is as basic as it gets. However, for a botched job, I'm pretty pleased with the results and the future looks promising.
