About this image

Such a bright pairing was visible long before sunset. As well as a naked-eye sight I had a nice view in 10x50 binoculars and wanted to get some photos with the blue twilight as a backdrop before they became too glaring in a dark sky.

My neighbour had a look through my binoculars but it was too cold to coax his family outside. By 17:00 intermittent bands of cloud were occasionally masking the event.
