Sorry for the flippancy amoungst so many excellent observations....
Decades on and we still dont have a permanent base on the moon. But hopefully some of us might see it come to pass.

In the meantime, for readers of a certain age this image needs no explaination. For those to young to remember, Google Space 1999.

Anyway, another year, the cool remains of another January bonfire and taken by the light of a full moon for some authenticity.

It had to be done, and my diecast model of an Eagle Transporter had another mission after too many years sitting on the launchpad.
