About this image

One of Messier's greatest misses.

Its a lovely object. I look at it every few years to see how far the technology has advanced. In the early 90's when I first imaged it, it was unusual to stack more than 7 images. Took a while to run under DOS.

Now its easy to pull out masses of detail.
