About this image

This is a two-panel mosaic shot over 2 night (Feb 27 and Mar 2nd) using narrowband filters.  It has been rendered in the HSO pallette giving the fiery red fell of the dragon nebula as it is sometimes called.

The nebula is lit up by the energetic star Xi Persei also known as Menkib.
