About this image

7.8 day old Moon, 54.3% illuminated. Whilst preparing to broadcast for National Astronomy Week we captured this data, and I've only just got around to processing it. Fair to good seeing, 64 seconds at 163 fps (1.069ms exposures), 10,465 frames. Best 7% of frames stacked in AS!4 and sharpened in WaveSharp and curves and contrast enhanced in FastStone Image Viewer. I suspect focus was a bit soft, and the sunlit western edges of some craters are overexposed, but nice to see the rille and associated craterlets and other rille on the western and southern lava fields.
