Venus in the Morning Sky

About this image

This is a zoomed bridge camera shot of the thin crescent Venus, faintly visible above the roof in this image. This is just under three days before Inferior Conjunction, but Venus lies so far north of the Sun that it is already visible with binoculars in the morning twilight sky. This is the first time I have seen Venus in the evening twilight and then in the following morning twilight. The period around the March Inferior Conjunction offers the best chance of this in the northern hemisphere, as Venus is about 8.4° north of the Sun at conjunction.
