About this image

The Moon was waxing gibbous over 90% full, the M81 area seemed to be far enough away from the Moon to limit the impact the image. So I pointed the SeeStar S50 at the M81 region for two nights giving just over 10 hours of usable subs, using the SeeStar's standard luminance filter.

In addition to the arms  of M81, the explosive nature of M82, the Seestar has also picked out Holmberg IX, an irregular satellite galaxy of M81.
